The Southeastern United States – Canadian Provinces Alliance (SEUS-CP) is a strategic partnership between states in the southeastern United States (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) and member provinces from Canada (Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador). The Alliance works on promoting and strengthening economic trade and investment opportunities between and among its member states and provinces.
The 4th Annual SEUS-CP Conference was held June 12-14, 2011, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. With Chuck Brown, from Cooke Aquaculture Inc., we managed the booth on IMTA as one of the 12 exhibitors showcasing innovation in New Brunswick.
For the occasion, we developed a very nice IMTA banner and we served smoked salmon and kelps. The Premier of New Brunswick, The Honourable David Alward, visited our booth twice, appreciating being kept informed of our innovative developments with IMTA, and really enjoying both the smoked salmon, served on crackers with cream cheese and capers, and the fresh kelps, which he found “surprisingly sweet and not leaving an after-taste”.
Our booth generated quite a lot of interest regarding aquaculture, farmed seafood and the IMTA approach.
