Honours Thesis (2015 - present)

Sam began working with us in April of 2015 as an honours summer student entering his fourth year of a B.Sc. His research involves the cultivation of Palmaria palmata (dulse) under three different light treatments and determining what type of substrate (twine) is favored for tetraspore settlement. After 8 weeks the dulse “babies” were taken to an aquaculture site to continue growth and to be integrated into the site’s farming practices. The dulse lines are currently being monitored for growth.
